Two founders.
One belief.
Better business.
Sue Hirst and Stuart Frost believed business owners could achieve more with clear financial insight and experienced support. In 1991, they set out to make that support accessible on a part-time basis.

A practical idea.
A lasting focus on business owners.
The people behind
a practical idea.
Two complementary perspectives brought together by a common purpose: helping business owners understand their numbers and improve their businesses.

Sue Hirst
Sue co-founded the business in 1991, bringing expertise in business and financial management.
Her passion is explaining accounting concepts in clear English, so business owners can make sense of their own numbers. That focus on practical understanding also shaped her book, Cashflow Breakthrough.

Stuart Frost
Stuart brought extensive business advisory experience when he co-founded the business in 1991.
His focus was the practical difference experienced financial support could make: stronger cash flow, a healthier bottom line and better outcomes for business owners.
old
Business owners could be making critical decisions using accounts that were up to 18 months old.
This describes the challenge identified by the founders at the beginning of the business.
Good decisions need
a clearer view ahead.
Sue and Stuart saw that many small businesses had an accountant, but were missing forward-looking financial control and advice on business efficiency.
They believed owners could achieve more, with less stress, if they could access the experience of a CFO or Financial Controller on a part-time basis.
