It’s not always easy to sit down and think strategically about business growth on your own, as a business owner.  You’re so absorbed in the day to day running of things… it can be hard to have the ‘brain space’ to ‘work on’ the business as well as in it.

It really helps to have someone who can act as a ‘sounding board’ for your ideas and plans.  CFOs are ‘logical thinkers’, who are adept at foreseeing potential pitfalls and helping business owners to avoid them.  This doesn’t mean being a ‘wet blanket’ and saying no to things.. It means finding ways to make it work efficiently, without wasted cost and effort.
